So, DNR employees are apparently unable to watch the inauguration of their president unless they would like to take annual leave time to do it. All streaming video - including CNN - is blocked on our computers, and clearly we do not have off work. I guess I'll be heading home shortly and work late tonight. I'm glad that as a state agency we are in tune with the major events in our country!
Hey (she said incredulously)! You have worked so much unpaid overtime, I think you can take that 2 hours off without any complaints from taxpayers! We had it playing in a conference room here - I took my lunch and my computer along for a working/history-witnessing lunchtime. Who knew it would be so much fun to sing the national anthem loud and proud with carrot sticking in your teeth and tears in your eyes! -Ant B in a big hat
ReplyDeletedon't feel slighted, most of your fellow citizens who are honorable, tax paying countrymen, also worked through the day. I am sure you are bright enough to use any number of resourses to view the days activity. I can think of so many more reasons to take a leave day from work that would produce something more than being a spectator in life. What's more valuable is what comes of his leadership, not what comes out of his mouth about his leadership. I have taken seriously the challenge to acknowledge the positive impact the administration has on my life and will start a blog detailing not only the positive, but the negative or indifferent. Less than a week in, and I have 4 items! So much for leading from the center. I am sore afraid to know what leading from the left looks like if this is an indication of leading from the center. The center of what I ask? and wait for revelation. So now I must go figure out how to start a blog!
